Viktoria Gronley's Fundraising Page
In June of "06" I went to the Humane Society to adopt a dog. On that day there was an abundance of black labs. I thought "how will I ever choose". So I walked back and forth past all of the kennels when a cute little female black lab reached her paw out and waved at me. I took her out to the play yard and she was so sweet that I went right back in and adopted her. My dad says that I didn't pick her, she picked me by waving her little paw as if to say "pick me, pick me". I found out that she had been thrown out of a moving car on I-5 and a good samaritan had picked her up and rushed her to a vet who cared for her and then brought her to the shelter. Lucy has been an amazing dog! She loves agility and is extremely smart. She even taught me how to play fetch ;). My family has participated in the Dog-a-thon for years and Lucy and I were very excited to join in the fun. Our 1st year we only had a couple of weeks to raise money, we raised $150 which my employer The Home Depot matched giving us $300. We've participated every year since and raised a little more each year. In October of "08" I went back to the shelter to adopt a playmate for Lucy. We found an adorable Malamute puppy that was having trouble getting adopted as he was so large and getting bigger by the day! He was full of energy and Lucy loved him. So we brought him home and now Lucy has her Rikki :)! The 2 are doing fabulous and are spoiled by everyone especially nana and grandpa. Our favorite place to go is Grandview Dog Park and visit all of our friends from Dallas and pals. We are looking forward to bringing Rikki to the Dog-a-thon and raising tons of money for the shelter :)! Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page.
