Vincent Rossmeier's Fundraising Page
Kind people--
As many of you already know, I'm once again in training to run a series of marathons and half-marathons during the winter of 2010-11. And just like last year, when I completed my second marathon in New Orleans, this year I'll be running in part to raise money for Success Preparatory Academy, an open-enrollment, extended-day charter school serving kindergarten through third grade students in New Orleans.
Since I first became involved with the school in early 2010, I've come to know and admire the school's co-principals, as well as SPA's dedicated teachers. The school is part of an education reform movement that is dramatically altering New Orleans' once failing school system. For every student at SPA, attending college is treated not as a dream or even a choice, but rather an unshakable reality. And SPA students not only receive a great education, they also all learn to play a musical instrument and engage in service projects around the city.
In order to support the school, I'm going to be running in, as of right now the following races:
December 4, 2010 -- Memphis Marathon
February 13, 2011 -- New Orleans Half-Marathon
March 20, 2011 -- Atlanta Marathon
April 9, 2011 -- Charlottesville Marathon
All in all, I'll be clocking in with almost 150 miles of competitive running, swimming and biking in the coming months. While I'd love for you to give to my page to help support SPA, I'd love even more if you'd join me and start your own page and run for Success Prep. Success Prep has an informative website if you'd like more information on the school or feel free to email me.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
