Merlin is an aid agency that provides healthcare services in the worst places in the world. Where there's a disaster or confict zone, Merlin is there: Darfur, Congo, Myanmar, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Liberia...the list goes on. Uniquely, Merlin doesn’t leave when the emergency phase is over. They stay and help the countries to rebuild their hospitals and clinics and get their ruined healthcare systems back on their feet. I’m particularly moved by the work Merlin do in maternal health and infant mortality and have set myself a personal target of raising $2,500 which is enough to train a midwife and equip her with everything she needs to save the lives of mothers and babies in countries where 1 in 4 babies are dying before the age of 5. (e.g. in Liberia.)  As my own 5 year old starts Kindergarten I really want to do something to help other mothers who deserve the same chance for their little ones. Merlin faces a mammoth task but here's how a few dollars from us can make a big difference........
