I started volunteering with RESCUE from May 2009 because I want to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the plight of homeless animals every where.

A difference in the life of a cat like Demitri. When we rescued Demitri he was on the "kill list" at the pound. He was listed as a stray and he had been at the pound for eight days before his rescue. We don't anymore of his story then that, but we know for sure he had spent a good amount of time outside as he was one of the dirtiest cats we have rescued. His white fur was gray and oily and full of matts. His appearance, however didn't affect his sweet disposition and we couldn't wait to get him back to the Feline Care Center. He promptly got a bath and we started working on getting all of his matts out. Within a few days, Demitri was looking handsome as ever and had easily become a favorite among volunteers.
 
Demitri's story is similar to the 9400 other cats and dogs RESCUE has saved and found homes for since our beginning in 1995. Some had stories sadder then Demitri's, some had medical issues, for some their owners simply didn't want then anymore, whatever the reason they all had one thing in common, they were on the "kill list" at the pound and they needed us. Hopefully some day they won't need us anymore, but until that day, with your help we will be there. Your donation, of any amount, helps us help cats (and dogs) just like Demitri. Your donation helps us pay for our monthly expenses such as food, boarding and medical care. Every dollar adds up just like every life adds up to the over 9,400 lives saved and you can be apart of our mission by supporting our efforts!
