Bowl For Kids' Sake is our only annual fundraiser. Funds raised account for nearly 30% of our annual budget. How does it work?
Teams of five gather to collect pledges on behalf of children facing adversity. It is a proven fact when kids like these are matched with a mentor or participate in our afterschool programs their grades improve, their attitudes become more positive and they develop a better sense of the future. The team captain calls Big Brothers Big Sisters at 217-446-6601. You will get a team packet with information including a pledge sheet, poster and other information on why raising funds for our kids is so important.
A team can be made up of co-workers, church group, friends, family - the combinations are endless.
On the day of the event, the team comes to the bowling alley at their scheduled time. That day is our time to celebrate. Team members bowl for free, free shoe rental, free pizza, fun, 50/50 drawings and purchase tickets for prize basket drawings.
