Wayne Gerst's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
I will be competing in the Revolution3 Ironman distance race at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio on September 12th, 2010. The race consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run. Along with setting personal athletic goals for this race, I have also made it a goal of mine to raise $750 for cancer research. Your donations toward hitting my goal will be deeply appreciated.
For those of you who don't know, the V Foundation started with the dream of Jim Valvano, the passionate and committed former NC State (and, before that, Johns Hopkins!!) basketball coach and award-winning broadcaster, as he battled cancer. Wanting to see the battle through to victory, Valvano recruited friends and family to lead The V Foundation in his quest to eradicate the disease that ultimately claimed his life. With a dire need for early developmental, critical-stage grant support, the Foundation was formed to assist the brilliant young researchers that will eventually find cures for cancer.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. You may also mail a check made payable to "The V Foundation" and send to Wayne Gerst, 9049 Stones Bluff Place, Camby, IN 46113.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
