Summary: 

Through the Transforming Lives Initiative the New England Branch of Bethany Christian Services (BCSNE) is raising support for a new caseworker to serve SE Massachusetts and Rhode Island.   Our goal is to raise $25,000 in 2009 and $35,000 in 2010.  All gifts will be doubled through a matching grant from Bethany Grand Rapids, our parent corporation.   I’m currently serving as a volunteer on the New England Branch board.

 

Context:

Into the often-polarizing debate surrounding the practice of abortion, BCSNE facilitates a third option; adoption.  A woman with a crisis pregnancy faces three choices - abortion, adoption or parent.  We believe that adoption is the option that ultimately results in the greatest range of choices for the greatest number of people.   Adoption is the option that is truly “pro-choice” and “pro-life”.

 

Purpose:

BCSNE is expanding its capacity to support these women with a new RI based pregnancy counselor / adoption specialist.  The support services that this worker provides to birth mothers is vital but obviously not revenue generating.  

 

Ask:
