Thank you for visiting my Polar Plunge fundraising page. We will be once again plunging into icy lake Michigan (only one time) a week after we spend 24 hours on the beach plunging 24 times in 24 hours at the Super Plunge!  Why do we do this you may ask??  We are doing it to support the22,000 Special Olympics athletes of Illinois! Our son Cole is 9 years old and is currently participating in sports skills  activities through  Elim, his school.  He briefly participated in the Young Athletes program and learned lots of basic sporting skills and how to play with his brother like typical boys his age. Special Olympics has been part of our life for almost 15 years, Dwayne and I volunteered in College at Monmouth collecting donations, Dwayne participated in his first plunge when I was 3 months pregnant with Cole (we did not know at that time Cole would be born with Down syndrome) and ever since Cole was born Special Olympics Illinois has been a support system for us and has given us hope for Cole's future.  We are constantly reminded of the wonderful things that are possible for our son when we go to the Special Olympics Summer Games and meet athletes.  We are honored to be part of the Special Olympics Family and we look forward to participating in events to support Special Olympics. 

During the next 4 months (sounds so long)  we will be having various fundraisers to support our teams Crazy for Cole which will be participating in the Super Plunge and Crazy for Cole Too our single plunge team going to Lake Bluff.  We will keep you posted on any events and different ways to support our teams. 

 

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.
