Thank you for visiting my "Plunge" fundraising page. They say anyone with a little guts and a warm heart can take the "Plunge" and I am one of those folks. For the past seven years we have been participating in the Polar Plunge. This year we are taking it a step further and doing the Super Plunge!!  Dwayne and I will be plunging into icy Lake Michigan on February 23rd starting at 2:00pm and stopping 24 hours later on the February 24th.  We will be plunging once an hour every hour for 24 hours. 

The first year Dwayne participated I was unable to participate because I was pregnant with Cole, Six short months later Cole was born with Down syndrome.  Little did I know how much this event would become so much of my life. It seems that seven years ago we were looking for something fun to do on a weekend afternoon and now we are part of the special olympics family. Seven short years after that day out Cole is begining to take the first steps to training for the Special Olympics and I couldn't be prouder. Cole has been participating in swimming and basketball.  He also loves bowling, he may be doing that sport too next fall!!

I'm collecting pledges from family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who wants to support Special Olympics Illinois athletes. Your donations will help provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in sports training and competition.

To reward your generosity, I'm going to join an expected 25 people n Evanston who will voluntarily jump into freezing cold water 24 times in the middle of winter as we take part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunges for Special Olympics Illinois. We always take lots of pictures and I promise to send you the evidence of my jump!!!
