Thank you for visiting the Team Harper fundraising page!
Harper Lily just turned 7, can you believe it? Please help us support the ASGGC. Living with Autism affects our whole family. The ASGGC has been an important resource and support system for us. Last year we raised over $1,000... hopefully we'll be able to raise even more this year. We walk in hopes that the Residential Project will be there for Harper when she needs it. We also walk in honor of Harper's Papa, Darrell Harper. He was her number one fan and supporter. If you join us for the walk wear your maize and blue in honor of Papa Darrell (#41 Go Blue!)
Please read the information regarding the walk below. The Residential Project is vital for families like ours. Any donation will help the cause.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
:) Wendy, Andrew, Harper, and Kendall Wittenberg
Registration for the walk is FREE. This event will have a ton of entertainment: Bounce Houses, Puppet Shows, Lego Robotics, live animals, Clowns and Characters, lots of kid's activities, games, and entertainment, great food & drink, auctions, raffles, and prizes! There are two paved walking trails-.4 mi. & .7 mi. Come join us for a fun day to help a great cause! All proceeds go toward our Farm-based Residential Project for Autistic Adults.
Why we walk: Autism now affects 1 out of every 150 children born. All net proceeds from this event will go toward the development of a farm-based Residential Community to provide for the care that will be necessary when these children reach adulthood. Our Residential Project is based on the successful Bittersweet Farm model. Bittersweet is one of only a few programs around the country dedicated to adults with autism. We are working with the staff at Bittersweet in order to replicate the Bittersweet model locally. www.bittersweetfarms.org
Our Residential Project Mission: To provide residential, employment, and general life supports for adults with autism so that they can lead involved and valued lives and achieve their maximum level of functioning and independence. To provide families with peace of mind, answering the question, "what happens after I'm gone?" with "a happy, full, productive life."
