Please help support me in the fight against Pulmonary Hypertension
I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension in December of 2008. It was pretty devastating. I had never heard of this disease. I went from one day, thinking I was totally healthy, to the next, learning I have a potentially fatal illness.
Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) is abnormally high blood pressure in the lungs. The arteries and capillaries in the lungs become narrowed, blocked or destroyed, making it harder for blood to flow through the lungs. This forces the right side of the heart to work harder, which can lead to heart failure.
PH is a serious illness that becomes progressively worse. Treatments are available that can help ease symptoms, slow progression of the disease and improve quality of life.
Pulmonary Hypertension is a very rare disease and consequently, there isn't much funding. Donations are needed to support clinical trials for new treatments as well as to help find a cure for PH through research.
I am participating in the 7th Annual New York Fun Walk for PH, which raises awareness and money for this disease. Contributions, even small, are central to supporting this cause. Your money really can make a difference.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
While a donation would be much appreciated, please don’t feel obligated. Spreading awareness about the disease is an accomplishment in itself. Thanks for reading!
I really appreciate your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thanks,
