As you probably know, my father passed away 2 years ago after suffering many years with Huntington's Disease.   Billy and I work with a small group of volunteers who organize this race each year to remember my dad and to raise funds for research.  I have (and each of my 4 siblings has) a 50% chance of inheriting this debilitating disease that would leave us dependent on round-the-clock nursing care to assist us in basic functions like dressing, eating, and bathing. There is currently no real treatment or cure for the disease and in most cases it strikes between the ages of 30 and 50.  We would lose our families and they would lose us.
