The Whittany Atkinson Home at Soaring Wings Ranch
Whittany Atkinson never met a stranger and had zest for life! She had an outgoing personality and a smile that lit up any room. She loved hanging out with her friends, dancing, and singing. She loved the Lord and was involved in her church youth group. Whittany attended high school at Conway High, and had previously attended the Vilonia Schools. Whittany also had a heart for children who found themselves in need of a home. After hearing news stories of children who had been mistreated, she frequently asked her parents, Jim and Carol Atkinson, if they could adopt a child. While spending time with her aunt who is involved with Soaring Wings Ranch, Whittany often asked about the children who lived there as well.
Whittany went to Heaven on July 17, 2011. Her absence has left a gaping hole in the Atkinson and Young families. Friends and family continue to pray for and support one another with the peaceful assurance that Whittany is in Heaven with Christ. Many have asked what they could do to keep Whittany's memory alive. We are excited to announce that $50,000, from the Crain Buick GMC Ranch RIde, will be used to start the fund for the Whittany Atkinson Home for girls at Soaring Wings Ranch.
The Young and Atkinson families are humbled and excited about building the Whittany Atkinson Home. The girls that live in the home will hear Whittany's story. They will hear about her heart for children and her love for Jesus Christ. Most importantly, the 8 girls living in the home will have the chance to have a personal relationship with Christ!
We would appreciate ANY help in funding the home that will cost approximately $60 per square foot. Thank you for keeping Whittany's legacy alive while giving children a chance.
