Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) affects our 8 year old son, Jake.  TSC is a devastating genetic disorder that causes tumors to form in various organs, primarily the brain, eyes, heart, kidneys, liver, skin and lungs.  People with TSC often develop epilepsy, autism and learning/behavioral problems.  There is currently no cure for TSC but ongoing research will help lead to the treatments and therapies for numerous other diseases including cancer, diabetes, autism and epilepsy.  TSC is the largest known genetic cause of epilepsy and is now the second largest identifiable genetic cause of autism.
