This year's fundraising effort is dedicated to Charles "Stick" Stickney, dedicated MHS volunteer, fellow Washingtonian, and co-founder of Perazone Power.

Perazone Power is named in honor of our fearless Washingtonian Ski Trip Leader, Ed Perazone, who skied off a trail in a blinding whiteout in Lech, Austria and is paralyzed . After talking with people from Maine Handicapped Skiing (MHS), Ed participated in a handicapped ski program nearer his home.

The Washingtonians are mostly Mainers who started skiing together in 1962 and now travel to Europe for an annual two week trip. Many members volunteer at MHS and contribute generously each year. Our Team Captain is Sara Stockwell, a Tuesday and Thursday volunteer/advisor who also teaches kayaking in the summer. 2011 Team members were Sara Stockwell, Bill Stockwell, volunteers Connie Towne, a Sugarloaf Volunteer, Lu Tingley, and Jeremy Baker, a racing participant who was  paralyzed after a fall off a two story ladder.

We  beat last year's fantastic 5th place record of $8,215 and hope it just keeps pouring in so more participants can enjoy this program for free.
