The Portola school budget is tighter than ever for 2012-13. If we want WriterCoach Connection back in our classrooms, we need to make it happen by raising $10,000! This past spring, WCC arrived at Portola with a pilot program and the results were powerful: 98% of Portola students served by WCC rated writer coaching as helpful and every Portola teacher rated the writing support as "very helpful" for their students.

One Portola teacher noted, "Students really began to GET the structure of an essay and how to begin to answer a prompt. The most amazing results were definitely with the reluctant and poorly skilled learners -- their confidence and skills went way up. I would just love to have writers coaches back. We need to find the funding to make it work."
