Communication is possibly the most powerful tool one can possess. As speech therapists at WVCA, we strive not just to teach children how to talk, but how to communicate. We work diligently to develop communication skills of preschool-age children, most of whom have developmental delays resulting from autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other disabilities including rare genetic disorders. At WVCA, we use a total communication approach in our services, which means that we use oral, auditory, signed, written, and visual aids, depending on the needs and abilities of the child.

Speech therapy is a field that is continuously developing in research, scope, and practice. As a result, some of the materials that are available at WVCA are outdated and the contemporary resources are few. Your donation will help provide up to date materials and devices used to teach communication skills to children who are at a vital point in their development. Please help us make a difference in the lives of the amazing young children we serve. Your donation will not only affect their lives, but also the lives of their families, their friends, their communities. It will affect their futures.
