~** Hands of Love America Japan Tsunami Relief, Recovery & Restoration Project**~

September 29th - October 14th, 2011

Have you forgotten that......
Friday, March 11, 2011 was just like every other Friday, but at 2:46pm an earthquake registering 9.0 struck just off the northeast coast of Japan.

The quake was so powerful that it shifted the earth's axis 6.5 inches and moved Japan 8 feet closer to North America.

The people of Japan were faced with a triple disaster. The earthquake triggered a devastating tsunami that caused an estimated 300,000 refugees. The tsunami triggered a nuclear meltdown at the Fukushima Power plants.

AFTERMATH:
* 20,525 DEAD or MISSING
* 5,712 INJURED
* 45,700 BUILDINGS DESTROYED
* 144,300 BUILDINGS DAMAGED
* 230,000 AUTOS DESTROYED
 

I still remember that day.....when I couldn't reach my parents for a couple of days.  It is always hard to live so far away from my family such a time like this.  I am very thankful that God has protected my family during this disaster.  But as you know, so many people suffered and lost their lives.  This affected the whole country of Japan.  Many have left their hometown to live with their relatives, but many have stayed to rebuild their live back in the destroyed towns.  It is heartbreaking to hear all the stories...but it is also encouraging to hear that they are fighting to build new home, new life, new community!

GOD has presented to me an opportunity to serve in Sendai Japan with a team of 6-9 people from Hands of Love America, Inc.  My husband and kids are very supportive of me going alone this time.  Each team members are asked to raise minimum of $2,000 to cover trip expenses (includes airfare, ground transportation costs, meals and other trip incidentals).  And we also hope to leave a generous love offering to our gracious hosts who will continue to serve in Sendai, Japan.

My commitment for this fundraiser is $2,000.  Please help me raise the fund for this trip, for our team, for Hands of Love America, Inc. and for building the Kingdom of God!

I have returned from Japan safely and I truly appreciate all your prayers and support for me and Hands of Love America Team!  One of our team member is still serving in Sendai.  Please continue to pray for her strength, health and safety!
