Joshua's 2008 Angelman Walk Fundraising Page HOORAY! It's that time again! Time to get together and walk, jog, or stroll, whatever you choose, for the Angelman Syndrome Foundation. I'm going to be riding my brand new AmTryke this year, should be fun, as long as my shoes stay on my feet! Sounds easy, but believe me it's a lot harder than you think! Just ask my friend Maddie, who had to wait for me to catch up with her every time my foot came out of my shoe! The walk is going to be at the same park we had it at last year, and it'd be so awesome if you came and walked it with us. Be ready to go a whole mile! I've been a busy little guy lately! I've gotten my new AmTryke, presented to me at a Fort Worth Brahmas game by Ambucs. That was so cool! They made me feel like a real little celebrity! My physical therapist came and told everyone all about me, everyone cheered for me, it was great. Thank you so much for coming Ms. Debra! My Nana made it out to see me too. It was just lots of fun!I have started going to hippotherapy too. No, I don't get to ride hippos, just horses, but it's still a lot of fun! I'm still going to physical therapy twice a week, occupational therapy (I haven't decided what I want to do when I grow up yet though) once a week, and speech therapy twice a week. Busy, busy, busy!I am learning to communicate using pictures, and I hope to soon get a really cool talking device to use too. It will have pictures that I can choose from and when I push them it will talk for me. How cool will that be!?! Our whole family sure does appreciate all the support and love that we get from our friends, family, and church family. You all make such a huge difference in our lives! Thank you!A lot of money was raised last year at the walk, and I hope that we can help out again this year. The Angelman Walk-a-Thon is THE major fundraiser of the ASF (Angelman Syndrome Foundation), and all the money raised through the walk goes towards education, research, and better treatments for angels everywhere. Thank you all and I hope that we see you at the walk in May!Huge hugs,Joshua "Pooh Bear" HamrickP.S. check out my blog at Pooh Bears Adventures
