Teen with a Dream was founded in 2003 by Spencer Harrison at age 14 while undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, he realized there is a strong correlation between emotional well-being and cancer survival and patients who have a strong and diverse support network, such as Teen with a Dream, often respond much better to treatment. Teen with a Dream has a variety of programs designed to support the child-patient at all levels of diagnosis and treatment, ranging from educational support to social events providing peer support. Teen with a Dream realizes that each child-patient is unique and works with the child medical care providers to tailor programs.
