Hey everyone,
We did it! Let's see how far we can go! All money will go to Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra. The Sierra Cycle Challenge will be taking place this Saturday, July 24th~Monday, July 26th 2010. The SCC is an annual fundraising event that will allow me to challenge myself and explore my new backyard, the beautiful Eastern Sierra.
Plus, if we raise $30,000 total (among all riders) my boss will shave her head. We are currently closing in on that number. It would be amazing to see my boss with shorter hair than me!
Where does the money raised go? The funds that I raise for the SCC go directly toward supporting students with individualized instruction and adaptive equipment, so they can enjoy the same sports that you do. Your donations will allow an autistic student to take her first runs at Mammoth Mountain or a Wounded Warrior to remember that life is still worth living.
This is a ride like no other! Outdoor challenges change lives, and we at Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra are doing just that through our year-round program of winter and summer sports for athletes with physical and cognitive disabilities. The freedom and exhilaration that is felt after skiing the top of a mountain, cycling over a rugged pass or catching a Sierra trout is unrivaled!
My Goal: Raise $1,000 or more! Please help me reach my goal with a tax-deductible donation to Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra. I’ll be climbing my way through the Eastern Sierra for three days and thinking gratefully of all my supporters along the way!
Day One: Mammoth Lakes to Benton Hot Springs: 48 miles, 1,500 ft. elevation gain!
Day Two: Benton Hot Springs to Grant Lake: 48.5 miles, 3,600 ft. elevation gain!
Day Three: Grant Lake to Mammoth Lakes: 35.6 miles, 2,900 ft. elevation gain!
