AIDSWALK KANSAS CITY: Saturday, April 25, 2009

Well, it's almost Spring again, and here come the requests for donations to good causes.  This is, however, a different world from Spring of 2008.  The economy seems to be in a free-fall and it has had an effect on all of us at some level. So, how do we justify this request for support?  Here it is in a nutshell:

• HIV/AIDS continues to be a scourge on the world's populations, and the cure has not yet been found.
• AIDSWalk Kansas City raises money to help people with HIV/AIDS in our own local community, not some amorphous national entity.
• As all finances dwindle, the need for supporting Kansas City's affected people is even greater.
• Given that we all still care, and we're all affected by the economic crisis, IT WILL TAKE MORE PEOPLE MAKING PERHAPS SMALLER, AFFORDABLE DONATIONS TO EVEN APPROACH LAST YEAR'S GRAND TOTAL OF OVER $500,000.

So please.  Donate an amount that makes sense to you.  And then pass this link on to someone else who cares.  Together we can continue to make a difference.
