Michigan's program will be sending two atheltes to the World Winter Games in PyeongChang, Korea in 2013. A total of 3300 athletes with mental disabilities from around the world will participate in seven Olympic sports competition including alpine skiing.
There are two venues in which the games will take place: PyeongChang and Gangneung.
Pyeongchang, the Mecca of skiing in Korea, has Yongpyong and Alpensia, which are resorts and venues for international competitions, and alpine ski, cross country, snowboarding and snow-shoeing competitions are held here.
Gangneung, where the indoor stadium is located, is where international competitions such as the East Asian Games, Short Track World Championships and World Junior Figure Skating Championships are held, also host games for figure skating, short track skating, and floor hockey.
