Purpose (How it all began)
As parents of a child with life-threatening food allergies, my husband and I felt a strong need to establish a full-service, non-profit, community-based organization to assist local families in coping with the everyday issues regarding food allergies.
After my daughter was diagnosed, we, as concerned parents, had many anxieties about the uncertainties that were bound to follow. We sought answers to questions within our community such as: Where do we go for support?, What can she eat?, and How do we protect her? It was then that we realized there was a great need in our community for bringing awareness and education to the public about food allergies. With so much uncertainty for my daughter's health and lack of awareness within the community, we decided to create a non-profit organization, Families with Food Allergies. Our goal is to become an excellent source of knowledge and experience as we educate and help other families within our community cope with the many issues surrounding food allergies. Working together as a group, food allergies can be easily managed.
Vision Statement
Families With Food Allergies is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit educational organization dedicated to educating the public about food allergies and raising funds for research with the hope of finding a cure. We believe awareness is the key to saving lives for people with food allergies.
Providing the community with the latest medical research about severe food allergies and creating a strong family-based support network to help families better cope with the daily concerns of treating food allergies.
Thank You for visiting Families With Food Allergies.
