Here's a father's story...
When their child was born with cerebral palsy, the physician explained that they'd be better off forgetting she ever existed and suggested putting her in an institution. Decades later, he continues to be blessed by the love of a child who is physically challenged, but mentally alive and thriving.
The need continues...
While our understanding of CP and the treatment from physicians has greatly changed since that discussion so many years ago, the issue remains for many families...once their special needs child is an adult, where can they turn for support and assistance.
BrightStone is an organization committed to offering families support.
BrightStone allows students to explore their full human potential. A potential greater than many ever envision.
I have been blessed over the last several years to participate in the annual golf event. This year, the need is even greater as the economic situation continues to challenge all charitable organizations and events. This year I am joining my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson in trying to raise $11,000 together. (I'm tryig to raise $6,000 and they're trying to raise $5,000)
For those of you who have supported me and BrightStone in the past, I appreciate your help and am counting on it again this year.
For those of you who haven't been been able to give before, I hope you can consider some donation...no amount is too small.
If you have questions, please visit the website at www.brightstone.org and consider the families affected not only by our economy, but also by the love for their children.
I appreciate your consideration and hope you will call me if you have any questions about BrightStone and ways you can help.
If you'd rather give by mail, send your contribution to BrightStone at: P.O. Box 682966; Franklin, TN 37068.
Gary
