My name is Gary Ross and I will be running in this years Marine Corps Marathon to raise money and awareness for the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF).

Carcinoid cancer is the term used to refer to tumors that originate in the nerve cells that produce hormones, also known as the neuroendocrine system.  Research into carcinoid and neuroendocrine cancers will provide insight into other cancers and diseases including prostate cancer, diabetes, and cancer proliferation.

CFCF is the leading non profit funder of carcinoid and related neuroendocrine tumors research.  The mission of CFCF is to discover a cure for carcinoid while working to eliminate the suffering of patients, families and caregivers affected by this and other related neuroendocrine tumors.  Please see the foundation website for more information: http://www.caringforcarcinoid.org/

The CFCF is unique in that 100% of all money raised by the Foundation goes directly to research and not a single dollar is used for overhead expenses.  This means is that your entire denotation will fund genetically-based research into carcinoid and other related neuroendocrine cancers.
