Hi everyone,
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the National Stroke Association (NSA) team/ING NYC Marathon 2009. I am very excited to be accepted and to run for a great organization.
I chose to apply to be apart of the NSA's team because Stroke is one of the top leading causes of mortality but is not well advertised compared to heart disease and cancer.
In addition, I have an aunt who experienced Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIAs) or mini strokes and eventually suffered a mild stroke thereafter. (A TIA is a brief feeling of stroke-like symptoms which do not produce long lasting damage.)
I would like to dedicate this 26.2 mile run in honor of her and people who were affected by Stroke in their lives.
In all, I am very grateful to the National Stroke Assosciation for allowing me to participate with them this year. And I would like to thank everyone for their well wishes and their generous financial contribution.
Much Appreciation!!
Geoffrey
PS: If you happen to be in the NYC Metro area please feel free to come and cheer me on. Bring gatorade! I definitely could use your support to energize me especially at mile 20 to 22 where I hear one experiences the feeling of the wall.
