UPDATE 5/25/09 - Just a little less than 2 weeks to the 2009 Paws Walk and I’m excited to say that my initial goal of $2000 has been exceeded! However, if anyone else would like to help out with a good thing, I have until June 5th at 5 PM to accept more sponsorships.
If all was going well for the NHSPCA and they were going to reach record numbers, I might just leave it alone…might…although I always like to do my very best. Unfortunately, that is not the case this year. They are only projecting to raise half of what they raised last year. So, even though I’ve met my goal and I have raised more than I did last year, the NHSPCA still needs serious help. If you can, please lend a hand.
I know I have asked several people from outside of NH to help. I think that’s fair because the NHSPCA takes in animals from overcrowded shelters nationwide. Often if you look on their web site you’ll see a note that says an animal has been transferred to them from an overcrowded shelter. In this way they help save at-risk animals from many areas of the country. Every little bit that we give can help them save the next animal. Also, because not every charity uses its money wisely, please know that I’ve checked out the NHSPCA on charitynavigator.com and they got a good rating. About 80% of their money goes to actually helping the animals, while the other 20% is divided between fundraising and administrative costs.
If you want to participate, know that your donation is going to a great cause at a time when it’s really, really needed. Thanks to all!

UPDATE 5/13/09 - First, A huge THANKS to all of you who have generously sponsored us.
Nine days ago my Mom lost her beloved dog Zoe to cancer. Zoe was lucky to have Mom to spoil her and Mom appreciated every ounce of Zoe's love and dedication. This year Trixie and I are going to walk in honor of Zoe. We hope to raise a minimum of $2000 to help other dogs and cats find "forever homes" where they will be just as loved. If you've ever lost a four-legged family member, or if you have one that you can't imagine living without, please give us a helping hand to reach our goal.
As you can see, we're just a little over halfway to the goal and there is less than a month to go. If you know any others who might want to help, please pass on a link to this web site and ask.

Last year Trixie and I walked to raise money for animals rescued by the NH SPCA, so they can become as spoiled...uh, I mean happy...as my beloved Trixie. Thanks to many generous friends we raised $2035 and claimed the honor of being the highest individual fundraiser of the event.
We're walking again in the 2009 Paws Walk. Can I count on your support?
Times are tougher this year and the need is greater, while the ability to give may be less. I've heard stories about people giving up their pets due to financial strain. I can't imagine the heartbreak that would cause me, but it makes me more determined to help.
If you contributed last year and find yourself in a position to do so this year, please consider adding $5 or $10 to last year's amount. I know some of my prior sponsors do not have the means to support this worthy cause this year. In order to have the same impact I'll need to reach more people; please consider forwarding this page to your own animal loving friends also. If you are a new contributor, welcome to the cause and thank you so much!
Really...thank you so very much!
Love,
Teressa & Trixie
P.S. If you want to make your gift in honor a 4-legged family member or friend, you can use the comments section for your dedication. Please be assured that this site is completely secure; but if you'd still rather write a check or give cash, just email me at teressacorson@comcast.net.
