Thank you to everyone that made a gift to this project. I obviously fell a little short of my goal.. And my desire to run a marathon is definitely out. I continue with physical therapy and make some slow progress.

We all played a role in uniting this wonderful family. Albeit a very small role. But it was important. Thanks again. And God Bless you all.

My Mission:

The associate pastor of Life Church, Scott Himes, and his wife Courtney will be traveling to Rwanda to adopt two children. To learn more about their story read their blog at http://lifechange.typepad.com/lifechange/adoption/

Rwanda is a beautiful country that struggles with poverty, disease and the lingering effects of the genocide in the mid-1990s. It is the most densely populated African nation and has a large number of orphans needing someone to love and care for them. Music artist Sara Groves recently made a trip to Rwanda... watch her video to the side for an idea of the children you will be rescuing.

I want to help. Specifically, I want you to help me help them adopt two orphans from Rwanda who have no family and little hope for their future. It's not a stretch to say, I want you to help save two young lives.

To help stay motivated during the 20-milers that are coming up, I would like to raise money for a Scott and Courtney. The estimated expenses are nearly $25,000.

Your gifts will be received by Life Church of Indianapolis and designated for the Himes' Adoption misson.

Scott and Courtney have already completed one international adoption. Check out pictures of Noah Himes and his adoption here. 

Scott and Courtney will succeed in growing their family. I have no doubt. They are on a mission from God. I have felt prompted to assist them and I hope you will join me.

My goal is to raise $3,000. Hopefully more. Just imagine several months from now when we can post pictures of the new additions to the Himes family. Or better, visit Life Church and see the children for yourselves.

The average on-line gift is $50. If you can do $50 I would be estatic!

But I have learned an important lesson from my work raising money for Riley Hospital for Children. It's possible to raise millions of dollars with thousands of smaller gifts. If you could give just $10 and encourage others to do the same, together we can reach $3,000.
