Hello Everyone!!!

My name is Joana, and my sister Miriam (seated on the right side of the picture) was diagnosed with Lupus (systemic lupus erythematosus) in April 2005 after many years of going to doctors and being told that nothing was wrong with her. Since her diagnosis, I have wanted the opportunity to do something for her.  I may not be able to ease the physical pain, but if I can help ease the emotional pain a little, then I know I have done something.  I have decided to run 26.2 miles at  the Los Angeles marathon on March 2, 2008 in dedication to her. I also then saw this opportunity to become a fundraiser for the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA). My goal is to raise $10,000 in eight months.  I KNOW I CAN DO IT WITH YOUR HELP.

With your donations you can help my sister and 2.5 million americans feel better and battle this chronic disease and maybe some day with supporters like yourself, researchers can rid the world of this disease.
