Gutrunners is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving digestive health through exercise. Gutrunners strives to create awareness of obesity, colon cancer and other digestive disorders. By incorporating basic prevention tactics such as proper nutrition and exercise as well as sophisticated diagnostic testing including endoscopy and colonoscopy, Gutrunners improves the health of participants and non-participants alike.
Gutrunners Foundation is pleased to be a recognized charity partner for the 35th annual Marine Corps Marathon which will take place on Sunday October 31st, 2010 in Washington DC. By registering as a Gutrunners team member you will be fundraising to pay for free colonoscopy for uninsured patients (Colonoscopy Access Program) as well as research on colon cancer, obesity and other digestive disorders through our founding sponsor and research partner, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (www.asge.org). The $1500 fundraising pledge includes the marathon entry fee and your choice of enrollment in a local marathon training program or a virtual online program at no additional cost.
In addition to supporting a great cause - digestive health - perhaps the greatest motivation for running 26.2 miles is to celebrate your own health, endurance and determination while helping to improve the health of others. We are excited to have you on our team!
