5 years ago, when my mom explained what was going on in her body, I felt as though the rug was pulled out from under me. I felt out of control, that her health was out of our hands! Running the NYC Marathon hand in hand with her again toward the finishline makes me think of how strong she, and every woman fighting this disease, needs to be.
