Hi. You are on Hannah Lawson's Fundraising Page for the Knoxville Ride for Kids (which raises money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation). Thank you for visiting my page. Did you know that nine children are diagnosed with a brain tumor every day? On February 12, 2008, I was one of those kids. I was diagnosed with an anaplastic ependymoma. That's a malignant brain tumor. After surgery and lots of radiation therapy, I'm doing very well except now I have radiation necrosis, which is a serious side effect from the radiation. I want to find a cure for brain tumors in children, but I need lots of help. Will you help me? You can help by making a donation, riding in the Knoxville Ride for Kids (on my team if you want), and by spreading the word.
Wanna hear something cool? If nine people donate at least $9 each and each one convinces nine more people to donate at least $9 each and each one convinces nine more people to donate at least $9 each, then in three rounds we could raise $7,371! If you donate more than $9, then our total will be even more!!! We're calling this the "Nine Factor" in honor of the nine children that are diagnosed with a brain tumor each day. If each of you promises to tell nine other people about this site (and asks them to make a donation even if it's just $9), I'll promise to keep fighting my own personal battle with brain cancer and I'll keep working to find a cure for pediatric brain tumors.
I hope to see you on October 18 at the Knoxville Ride for Kids!
P.S. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
