Welcome to Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity's Fundraising Page!
We are anxious to begin our spring building projects, which include sixteen homes on South Marshall Street and two homes on Laurel Street, both in the Asylum Hill neighborhood of Hartford. The South Marshall and Laurel Street Neighborhood Build is one of the largest, most concentrated projects Hartford Habitat has ever undertaken, and is aimed at bringing together prospective homeowners and thousands of volunteers to build eighteen new townhomes in one of the worst sections of Asylum Hill. By bringing together diverse groups of people for a common purpose, we can revitalize the South Marshall and Laurel Street section of Asylum Hill and create the change that is needed in Hartford.
The effects of Habitat homeownership reverberate throughout entire streets, blocks, and eventually neighborhoods. Our motto of "Building More Than A House" is reflective of the idea that by building simple, decent housing, other favorable changes occur within the community as well. With every Habitat home built, communities grow stronger, neighborhoods become safer, children and parents act more responsibly, the home environment becomes more stable and families begin to build wealth. Hartford Habitat's goal is build more than a house; our goal is to revitalize neighborhoods, empower families, connect communities, strengthen partnerships and bring people together to forge new friendships.
It takes a lot of people to actualize this mission, and we need your help! Tell your friends, family, co-workers, congregation, customers and neighbors how they can support Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity and create a stronger, more vibrant greater Hartford.
