About the Build A Thon: The 2011 Build-A-Thon is Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity’s week-long building blitz and biggest fundraiser of the year. This annual event is in its 18th year, and is designed to bring together individuals, faith groups, corporations, small businesses and foundations throughout the greater Hartford community in order to build simple, decent, affordable housing for working families.

In 2011, our goal is begin construction on sixteen homes on South Marshall Street in the Asylum Hill neighborhood of Hartford and engage 50 volunteers a day in the struggle to eliminate poverty housing. The need for safe, decent housing is greater than ever, and it is imperative that people living and working in the capitol region come together to create change for the families, neighborhoods, and communities in which we live and work.

• Select "2011 Build A Thon"
• Click "Raise Money"
• Create your First Giving profile
• Click "Add A New Team" or "Find A Team to Join"
• To "Add A New Team," give your team a name and list your organization
• To "Join A Team," type in the team name or click "Show All Teams"
• Personalize the text and photo on your online fundraising page to express your goals
• Send the link out to your friends, family and colleagues-anyone you think will help you reach your goal!
