HAWC provides free, comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence, and their children, in 23 cities and towns across the North Shore. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, advocacy in courts, police departments and healthcare settings; trauma recovery counseling for adults and children; support groups; economic stability services; relocation and rental assistance; prevention education in schools and communities.

Sunday, April 25, 2010 - The Walk for HAWC is a five mile walk through Salem, Massachusetts to raise awareness and funds for HAWC. Pre and post-walk festivities make this a great family event - bring the family, the dog and all of your closest friends to help support HAWC. Each year, the Walk has over 1,000 North Shore participants. This year, we hope to raise $180,000 to support HAWC's free domestic violence programs.

Other Events Supporting HAWC

Saturday, May 1, 2010 - Annette's Climb is a weekend fundraising event in a beautiful part of New Hampshire to benefit HAWC in memory of Annette Soares who lost her life to domestic violence in April 2002. The challenges of hiking and skiing are a wonderful metaphor for people in abusive relationships.
