Thank you for visiting our page. We're publishing this information for several reasons. First and foremost, our goal is once again to increase awareness amongst our friends, family and the community about this hereditary, neurological disorder that our family is faced with. It is our duty to share our personal story with you, in order to educate as many individuals as possible. Finally, in honor of our mother, Marcia Hathaway, and grandmother, Marge Rice, we're hosting the second annual Grosse Pointe Hoops for Huntington's fundraiser.

Our grandmother is 81 years old, and was diagnosed with Huntington's Disease approximately 11 years ago. Our mother, Marcia, was diagnosed following a positive genetic test for the Huntington Trait. We three girls, each have a 50% chance of also inheriting the disease and developing symptoms. Our mother is our role model, as she has handled this with strength and grace that we can only imagine.

Our goal through the Hoops for Huntington's Hoop-a-thon is to raise awareness for the disease and raise money for the Huntington's Disease Society of America, to increase research and hopefully improve the outlook of families like ours nationwide.

We are incredibly grateful in advance for your support and love you all dearly.
