Thanks A Million Woody!

Thanks A Million Woody!

Hi there my name is Joe Hamilton and my family members have Huntington's disease,  I was tested in 1996 and do not have it,   That encourages me to be there for my brothers and sisters around the world who are dealing with the disease as we speak.  Woody Guthrie had Huntington"s disease.  His wife Marjorie founded the first Huntington Disease Association.  She was determined to see that her husband-s legacy of music and poetry would live on,,,, but Huntington's Disease would not, and that other Huntington families would not endure what her own family went through.   One person said "NO More !!"  and got something started

Today we have  Worldwide HD Associations under different titles all fighting to find a cure and support our families with HD.

We are celebrating Woody's 100th birthday because without Woody's life and his wife's determination to find a cure we would not have an association like we have today.... That is why I for one  want to say Thanks a Million Woody ... and make a small donation which I hope will be contributed to by thousands of others around the USA   Let's say   "Thanks A Million Woody,  Happy 100th Birthday Woody"  His hu100th birthday will be on Saturday 14th July

I have put together a concert in honor of Woody Guthrie's 100th birthday which includes many of his songs taking place Friday July 13th 2012 at the Yarmouth Cultural center on Cape Cod with  all procceds going to the New England office of the Huntington's Disease Soceity of America.  If you wish to attend the concert click here for details https://www.google.com/calendar/event?eid=YmNyam1nczhxNTFwb21vOXZybTUxb2kwczggY3VsdHVyYWxjZW50ZXJjY0Bt&ctz=America/New_York&gsessionid=OK

If you cannot attend the concert, but wish to help us support HDSA please donate to this site which will remain open through Dec 31st 2012.

Let's  put some powerful funding into our research and family support systems and keep it that way until we find that cure.

You know with us .... anything is possible.

Thank you    Joe Hamilton
