Dear Friends & Family:
On June 6, 2009 I will be participating in Village Northwest Unlimited's 4th annual Run, Walk & Roll. In its inaugural year, I ran the 5k & have run the 10k in each of the past two years. My goal this year is to, again, run the 10K but in 56 minutes "ish" . . . or to just finish without collapsing and needing ambulatory assistance!!! J My motivation for this particular run comes from special folks I have met from the VNU. I’m running for those that can’t & I know that they would, if they could! It is my intention this year, if I am able to place & receive a medal, to give that medal away to one of the Village residents that attend the awards ceremony.
Village Northwest is a private, not-for-profit, interdenominational organization, serving adults with disabilities since 1976. At VNU, people with disabilities receive residential, vocational & employment opportunities through a wide variety of wonderful programs. I'm proud to say that my Mom served on the VNU Board for several years and truly enjoyed her term as Board president. As a result of her involvement, Parker, Carter & I have had the opportunity to get very familiar with the programs, services, staff & residents at the VNU & have come to know it as a very special place.
My fundraising goal for this year's Run, Walk & Roll is, again, $1,000.00. I was so amazed & blessed by everyone’s generoursity last year in helping to meet that ambitious goal and feel challenged to raise that amount again. I would greatly appreciate any support you can offer for this very worthwhile cause. Funds raised will be used for programs & services which will enable VNU to continue providing quality services for those they serve.
I’m writing to ask you to consider supporting Village Northwest by sponsoring me in the Run, Walk & Roll 10k. Donations can be made two different ways this year. New this year is online at www.firstgiving.com/heidinissen1 ! The web site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. A second way to make a donation is by check. You can either mail your check made payable to Village Northwest Unlimited to the directly to me at 1531 13th Avenue, Sheldon, Iowa 51201, or deliver it to me at Citizens State Bank whichever your prefer. I would appreciate receiving any donations by May 31. However you decided to offer your gift, online or by check, and however much you might decided to offer – THANK YOU! Your support and generousity are greatly appreciated!
On behalf of my personal trainers (Parker & Carter), thank you, THANK YOU for your consideration and for your support of the VNU and my participation in the 4th annual Run, Walk & Roll!!
