This year the Families of SMA group is hosting the annual conference on SMA here in the Philadelphia area at the end of June. The conference will be an opportunity for us to meet other families and learn from the group of physicians and scientists working towards therapies and cures.

There is a lot of research taking place currently that gives reason for hope. For those of us dealing daily with the challenges of this type of disease, Families of SMA is an invaluable resource. FSMA donates 80 cents of every dollar raised to research. The group also monitors and reports the progress on finding a cure, and provides many other services. For example, they offer medical supplies and apparatus for loan to SMA families. We have elected to support the FSMA group by promoting its upcoming fundraising event, the Philadelphia "Walk 'n Roll".

On a personal level - we realize that we've been faced with a major challenge, and we've relied on good friends, strong families and a faithful foundation to hold us up. So, still standing, we are brave, we are committed and we are a family. Thank you for all your prayers and support. There are SO MANY of you.
