The VHL Family Alliance provides information for families and physicians about this disorder, and local self-help support groups for families affected with VHL.
Most importantly, we -- everyone in the VHL Family Alliance -- are active members in a symbiotic partnership with the health professionals and researchers and are making progress in understanding how VHL works, and what tactics might be helpful in moderating the course of the disease. It's only a start, but it's a great deal more than we've ever had before. With your help, we will advance farther in the next year.

This page has been set up in memory of my father, Henry F. Bowers (1937-2009). A humble and hard working man, he forged on despite health problems caused by Von Hippel-Lindau Disease, an inheritable condition which causes neurological, eye, and kidney, and pancreatic tumors. The VHL Family Alliance has been a fundamental part of the education and journey to treatment for VHL in our family . Thanks to VHL Family Alliance, other VHL patients (including my son and I) have the knowledge to seek proper care and treatment which should allow them to live fuller, longer and more productive lives. We hope to give back, and enable further research with donations in my fathers' memory.
