HMEA supports nearly 3800 children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities who face significant challenges in more than 110 Massachusetts communities. Many people have multiple disabilities, including physical challenges, psychiatric and behavioral disorders or autism. HMEA "believes in the power of dreams, NOT the limitation of disability". People with disabilities have the same dreams and desires as you and I, such as, a strong and loving relationship, security and respect, being with friends, learning about things of interest and satisfying work. HMEA's mission is to help people realize those dreams and to become active and productive members of their community.
Each year HMEA, along with its 650 caring, committed and dedicated staff, continue itsr pioneering efforts to include people with significant disabilities into everyday life. And one way you can help is by helping us fundraise for our annual Independence 5K Run and Walk, Roll & Stroll in the Park. Please consider creating a fundraising page and asking your family, friends and coworkers to help you "make a difference in someone's life!"
