ABOUT HMEA...
HMEA supports 2700 children and adults with developmental disabilities who face significant challenges in more than 110 Massachusetts communities. Many people have multiple disabilities, including physical challenges, pyschiatric and behavioral disorders or atusim, in addition to intellectual disabilities. HMEA "believes in the power of dreams, NOT the limitation of disability". People with disabilities have the same dreams and desires as you and I -- a strong and loving relationship, security and respect, being with friends, learning about things of interest and satisfying work. HMEA's mission is to help people realize those dreams and becoming active and productive members of their community.
Each year HMEA, along with its 650 caring, committed and dedicated staff, continue our pioneering efforts to include people with significant disabilities into everyday life. And one way you can help is by helping us fundraise for our annual Independence 5K Walk/Run. Please consider creating a fundraising page and asking, family, friends and coworkers to help you "make a difference in someone's life!" DON'T WAIT! Get started TODAY! Click the green "Start Fundraising" button above and ask people to support your efforts on behalf of all the people with developmental disabilities supported by HMEA.
