My personal message:

Thousands of families will go without heat this winter. Walk for Warmth dollars can keep them warm!

Heat for your home in the winter is one of life’s basic necessities that is often over looked. This winter, thousands of Out-WayneCounty families will struggle to keep warm under blankets and coats as they can’t afford heat for their homes.

Wayne Metro’s Walk for Warmth raises awareness and dollars to help the thousands of people in our area who will face heat related emergencies this year.

We need your help to reach our goal of raising $50,000 to meet the heat and energy related needs in our community.  Wayne Metro invites you to come out and join us at the 14th Annual Walk for Warmth.

Wayne Metro is pleased to announce two Honorary Chairpersons for the 14th Annual Walk for Wamrth. Wayne County Executive, Robert Ficano has been a long-time supporter of the Walk for Warmth. He is well-known for his support and commitment to families in the Out-Wayne County area. Bill Spencer from Channel 7 WXYZ-TV will also help kick off the 14th Annual event. Bill is a recognized leader in providing support and assistance to families in crisis situations, including those unable to afford heat for their homes during harsh Michigan winters. Bill started the Freeze Fighters campaign to provide help to individuals struggling to afford the basic necessity of heat, while also promoting awareness of the tremendous number of people suffering in our communities.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

PLEASE NOTE: You are not required to walk on Saturday, February 27th; you can support the Hoover Action Institute team by making an online donation.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
