Imagine a country where just a few years ago more than 800,000 people were slaughtered simply because they happened to be born into a particular tribe. Nearly a million people murdered in the most brutal ways because of the hatred of another tribe. Because of this terrible tragedy imagine not just one football stadium… but 12 or 14 … filled with thousands of small orphaned children and widows who have nothing. No food. No clothes. Nobody to protect them. And no way to get medical help for malnutrition or AIDS.

 

Local pastors in the city of Rwamagana, Rwanda have contacted Eternity Minded Ministries and pleaded with us to come to their city and help them help these victims of the Rwandan Genocide. We asked the pastors in Rwamagana what they needed most to care for these people during this crisis. Their response? “Medical Care.” Pastor Jerome Rugaruza in Rwamagana said, “In Rwanda there is a national medical program. It costs the equivalent of about $2 for each person to be in this program for one year. If a person does not have the medical coverage and needs to go to the hospital they must pay all of the cost. If they cannot pay then they can go to jail. So many widows and orphans do not have even that small amount of money so what can they do if you do not help?”

 

Now imagine you can give hope to the hurting orphans and widows in Rwanda for less than the cost of a latte at Starbucks, a bag of potato chips, or a gallon of gas! You can provide medical care to one of these hurting people in Rwanda for only $2 per year.

 

The goal is to raise $14,000 by December 7 so that we can not only take the Gospel in person to Rwamagana but so that, with your help, we can deliver a promise of medical care for 7,000 women and children for 12 months. Imagine how these people will respond to the Gospel in December if they also see God’s incredible love for them thru His provision of medical care.

 

When you give medical care to one of God’s children in Rwanda you will be blessed and transformed knowing you have provided a small measure of security to people whose existence seems hopeless.
