The Humane Society of Greater Miami is a not-for-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization and does not receive any funding from government agencies. It relies completely on private donations, grants and fundraising events like the Purina Walk for the Animals to help raise the money needed to care for more than 200 homeless dogs and cats each day; continue to operate our low cost and free spay/neuter and preventative health care clinics; and offer important programs to our community like teaching humane education lessons to both children and adults and providing pet therapy to senior citizens and rehabilitation centers.
