The Humane Society of Southern New Mexico (HSSNM) is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, tax exempt animal rescue organization.  We are not affiliated with or financed by any city, county, state or federal agency.  We are working to bring the community together for the sake of the Animals.  We rescue, rehabilitate, foster, and care for abused, neglected, and abandoned Cats, Kittens, Dogs and Puppies.  We place them in new and caring homes to provide them with a second chance at love through our ongoing adoption events. 

We manage the Cat Adoption Center located at the PetSmart Store on Lohman Avenue in Las Cruces, NM, and since April 2008, we have placed more than 290 cats and dogs into new and caring homes.

We work closely with the Spay/Neuter Awareness Program (SNAP) in order to provide low cost spay and neuter services for local pet owners, and furnish information to potential adopters as to the needs and care required by family pets.

We provide education to the general public on the needs and responsibility of caring for their pets.  We also provide a means for families to arrange for the placement of pets that are left without care or homeless when a loved one becomes ill or has passed away.      

Your donation(s) will provide access to food, shelter, and Vet care for the many animals we are trying to help.  A $15.00 or $20.00 donation will help provide a needed vaccination, a warm blanket, a bag of cat or dog food, etc.
