Physical therapists and PT students from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus make an annual trip to Nicaragua to provide training and education to PTs at the University of Nicaragua.  This team also delivers donated supplies which are distributed to clinics all over Nicaragua. The University in Managua, Nicaragua is the only school in the country through which physical therapy training is provided. The team will concentrate their efforts on providing continuing education and expanding existing treatment methods that are beneficial to the professors, students, and practicing physical therapists from nearby clinics. This education and these skills can then be implemented by physical therapists in Nicaragua with the hope of seeing a gradual rise in the quality of rehabilitation.
