Local pet owners are invited to an activity-packed afternoon of pet-powered fun at the 3rd annual
"Pet Pride in the Park Grande Adoption Event and Furry Fiesta Pledge Parade"
May 5th at Coralville's S.T. Morrison Park from 12:00 to 4:00pm
Designed to appeal to the entire family, whether they own a pet or not, this year's "Pet Pride" event also features a Furry Fiesta Pledge Parade to celebrate Cinco DeMayo and celebrate the upcoming opening of the Iowa Humane Alliance Regional Spay/Neuter Clinic in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids Corridor. The Furry Fiesta Pledge Parade offers the opportunity for participants to help us raise pledges of support for Iowa Humane Alliance, win prizes and raise awareness about the importance of spaying or neutering your pets.

Participants at the event can win prizes, as well as visit with more than a dozen animal adoption groups with a menagerie of adoptable pets for prospective families to meet. The Kids and K-9 Carnival will include games and prizes for both dogs and their human friends. The Fido and Friends Market will offer attendees a wide range of pet-related products. Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn about some wonderful pet- related businesses and organizations serving their communities.
The entertainment agenda features fun-filled pet contests throughout the day like Mejor Beso (Best Kisser), Muy Fabuloso Bailar Dueto (Best person and pet dance combo) and Speediest Gonzales (Fastest Pet), Mejor Truco (Best Trick).
Featuring door prize drawings all day long, $20.00 micro chipping, professional photography for you and your pet and all the other great activities folks have come to expect from this gala event, it's an afternoon the entire family will want to be part of.
Admission to the event is free. Registration for the Furry Fiesta Pledge Parade is a minimum donation of $20.00 with the opportunity for participants to raise funds and awareness for spay and neuter. Tickets for the Kids and K-9 Carnival are only 50 cents each. Dogs should be on a non-retractable leash and all other pets should be in carriers.
