We are starting our 2009 Family and Friends Campaign for Talk About Curing Autism (TACA). Last year through all of your generosity we were able to raise $1,550.00. This year we are hoping to exceed that amount and raise $2,000.00. We are participating in this campaign because of the excellent support and help TACA provides families. At the beginning of 2008, I had the opportunity to start the TACA Georgia Chapter and it has been a rewarding experience. By volunteering my time to such an amazing organization, I have had the chance to see firsthand the impact TACA has on families struggling with autism.
As most of you know, our daughter, Jordyn was diagnosed with autism 6 years ago. During this time, we have worked hard at providing her with the best therapists, doctors and schools available. Our efforts (and her hard work!!) are constantly paying off. This past year has been a great year for our family. Jordyn continues to inspire Ben and I every day. She often has to work much harder to accomplish a task than her peers, yet continues to have a smile on her face while doing it (most of the time!). She is constantly learning new things. Most recently she has learned how to use the computer and she loves it!
