What is Junior Achievement?
Junior Achievement is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that has been “Empowering & Inspiring” young people to create successful futures through experiential, volunteer-delivered programs in Coastal South Carolina since 1966.
The purpose of JA is to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business, and economics to improve the quality of their lives by giving them tools necessary to become financially responsible and independent adults.
Why JA?
There has never been a time more critical for the work we do, educating and inspiring our young people to value free enterprise, business, and economics to improve the quality of their lives. It is critical that we teach America's youth how to earn, save, and budget--how to manage credit--how to control their personal finances rather than vice versa.
The youth we educate today will be our employee, customer, small business owner, or political leader tomorrow, which makes what you do as volunteer, donor, or board member, more important than ever.
Generous support from corporations, individuals, and grants from foundations and community organizations make each class possible. We work with the school and the funding source to find volunteers to teach each class.
